Our Story
You have a strong personality. Your Mahjong tile set should, too.
Who is Miss Mahjong?
To put it simply: she’s a little mysterious, and she loves to play dress-up. Every time you pick up a Miss Mahjong tile set, you’re playing with Miss Mahjong herself - she’s just disguised as one of her many playful personas. From the playful Miss Cowgirl to the timeless Miss Classic, she’s there to make sure your tile set has just as much personality as you do.
Miss Mahjong was created by three Mahjong-obsessed friends and neighbors with a deep love for the game, the community around the table, and beautifully designed pieces that feel as special as the moments they’re part of. What started as a shared love for Mahjong nights spent together, turned into a passion for creating heirloom quality sets that spark joy.
What We Value
More than just a pretty tile set
When it comes to designing our artisan mahjong tile sets and mahjong accessories, we meticulously consider every detail. From consulting with professional American mahjong teachers, to collaborating with talented artists, and sourcing the most detail-oriented manufacturers, our products are a testament to our commitment to quality craftsmanship.
This means every product we offer has been rigorously tested so you can have the best mahjong playing experience. We don't take shortcuts. Between the Miss Mahjong trio and our focus groups, we test various designs and prototypes. After each game, we make note of even the subtlest changes, ensuring you won't confuse suits or mistake a 6 Bam for a 9 Bam (for example). Our sets are also designed to be colorblind-friendly, so beginners and experienced players alike can play with confidence. Only after extensive testing do we approve the final product for production – you'll notice the difference in the end result.
What Mahjong means to us
Aside from weekly coffee dates and impromptu front yard chats, we'll drop everything when a 9pm group chat asks for a game of mahjong. Three hours, a few glasses of wine, and too many Charlestons to count later, we make the short walk back to our respective houses, happier than when we left.
Our journey with Miss Mahjong has been filled with laughter, learning, and a deep love for this game. We're so excited to share it with you, whether you're picking out your first beginner-friendly mahjong set or adding a new luxury mahjong set to your collection.
